The Church of God in Atlanta
Established in 1837 at the intersection of two railroad lines, the city of Atlanta didn’t receive its current name until 10 years later. During the 1960s, Atlanta served as a major organizing center for the Civil Rights Movement. Atlanta has grown into the ninth largest metropolitan area in the United States, influencing the country and the world in commerce, finance, research, technology, education, media, art and entertainment. The World Mission Society Church of God has also found its home in the most populous city in the state.
